We are welcome pilots of all countries to take part in the Russian Open Championship-2007 on Paragliding in Kurai!
This competition has become traditional. Last year more than one hundred pilots from Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, France, Germany, USA,
Denmark, South Korea, Chech Republic, England, Japan participated in the contest. Among sportsmen there were international paragliding stars
Louise Crandal, Gin Seok Song and Nikolay Shorokhov.
The flying site of Kurai will allow you to ascend about 5000 m in wide thermals and also to make distant
flights for more than 100 km. Every day you will enjoy picturesque views of snow-covered mountain peaks and have
wonderful time in the camping.
KURAI IS AN ORIGINAL FLYING SITE WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER KNOWN. UNIQUE NATURE OF THE KURAI VALLEY WILL
ALLOW YOU TO EXPERIENCE BREATH-TAKING FLIGHTS VARIOS IN CHARACTER, CONTAINING THE MAIN FEATURES OF FLIGHTS IN THE
MOUNTAINS AS WELL AS IN THE PLAINS.
To arrive at Kurai flying site in time, you are to fly from Moscow (Russia) to Barnaul (Russia) on July 12, 2007:
- From Sheremetyevo-1 airport by flight SU-715 of AEROFLOT airlines which departs from Moscow at
22:30 (Moscow time) and arrives in Barnaul at 5:35 (Barnaul time: +3 hours time difference with Moscow time), or
- From Domodedovo airport by flight S7-217 of S7 SIBIR airlines which departs from Moscow at
23:45 (Moscow time) and arrives in Barnaul at 6:40 (Barnaul time), or
- From Domodedovo airport by flight 3R-111 of MOSKOVIYA airlines which departs from Moscow at
23:00 (Moscow time) and arrives in Barnaul at 6:00 (Barnaul time).
There are no direct flights from Europe to Barnaul. A return ticket Moscow-Barnaul-Moscow costs about 450 euro.
The organizers will meet you in the airport of Barnaul and transfer you to the camping in the Kurai Valley.
Your overall expenses at the place of competition will be 380-420 euro including the cost of transfer
Barnaul-Kurai-Barnaul, entrance fee, meals, mandatory local insurance.
Meals include breakfast, dinner and a lunch pocket which you can take out. There is a bar with snacks and drinks a
vailable in the camping. Please, take tent, sleeping bag and warm clothes because it can be cold in the evening.
After the end of the competition, on July 29, 2007, you can depart from Barnaul to Moscow by:
- AEROFLOT flight SU-716 at 7:30 (Barnaul time) which arrives in Sheremetyevo-1 airport at
8:40 (Moscow time), or
- SIBIR flight S7-218 at 8:40 (Barnaul time) which arrives in Domodedovo airport at 9:45 (Moscow time), or
- KRASAIR flight 7B-182 at 7:05 (Barnaul time) which arrives in Domodedovo airport at 8:50 (Moscow time).
